Kendall Muell

Kendall is a freelance artist based in San Diego, CA. Although she occasionally works in traditional media like ink and watercolor, she mainly works in digital media.

With a focus on nature and rebirth, she tries to bring to her work a sense of the wonder she feels when getting lost in the often overlooked details in the natural world- whether that be the tiny and fuzzy moss filled nooks and crannies between the trees or the under-appreciated patterns found in decaying life being given new use.

Kendall has trained in traditional media her whole life but had to stop working when she suffered from repetitive motion injuries in her hands brought on by other work and exacerbated by a hEDS (a connective tissue disorder). Without the ability to properly grip a pencil long enough to write or draw, she taught herself to finger paint with an open hand on a digital tablet so she could continue to do what she loves. In the years since, her hands healed enough to allow her to use a stylus, but she still relies on finger painting to be able to work regularly.
